Nia holds a PhD in Immunology and began his career developing novel cell therapy approaches for oncology before moving into biotech. He held senior roles at Gadeta and Quell Therapeutics, where he helped advance multiple cell therapy programmes towards the clinic. He subsequently co-founded Bastion Therapeutics, serving as CEO and helping build the company from its early foundations.

Since then, Nia has worked across biotech venture creation, investment and consulting. As an Entrepreneur in Residence at NLC Health Ventures, he worked alongside academic founders to translate early-stage science into investable biotech ventures. Through Fortitude Consulting, he now advises early-stage biotech companies and investors on strategy, development and company building.

Nia is currently a Deeptech Mentor for the EIC Tech to Market Programme, an Advisory Committee Member of the ARC Hub for Therapeutics, and a Mentor for the Broadening Horizons Programme. Across these roles, he is passionate about helping ambitious scientists navigate the journey from promising research to companies capable of delivering meaningful impact.
